Great Symphonic Burst

"A symphony must be like the world - it must encompass everything". This is the Austrian conductor and composer's definition of a symphony. His symphonies are all generous tonal paintings that embrace all facets of the symphony orchestra's expressive power – from soft whispers to the full-blown symphonic roar. There is the possibility of an experience out of the ordinary when the Sønderjylland Symphony Orchestra teams up with the Schlesweig-Holsteinisches Sinfonieorchester to perform Mahler's 2nd Symphony. Orchestral sound and poetry merge into one when soloists, choirs and a double symphony orchestra perform a work that, since its first performance, has stood as a milestone in music history due to its overwhelming beauty and intensity.
