Solo oboe

Simona Sindrestean

Simona was born in Romania, where she started playing the piano at the age of 5 and the oboe at the age of 10. Even before she turned 18, she won several oboe competitions in Romania. She has studied oboe with Professor Florenel Ionoaia at the Academy of Music in Bucharest and with David Walter at Conservatoire Nationale Superieur de Music In Paris. In addition, she has a diploma from Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, where she studied with Matthias Bäckers.  

Simona joined Sønderjylland's Symphony Orchestra in 2015. Before that, she played in Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester and Comedy Opera in Berlin. At regular intervals, she also plays in the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra and the Romanian National Radio Symphony Orchestra. 

Alongside the oboe, she has also studied piano for 13 years and guitar for three. She loves to write and paint and has received several awards in writing essays.
