Alsion 2, 6400 Sønderborg

2nd solo trumpeter

Per Nielsen

Born: 1954.

Educated at:
The Royal Danish Academy of Music with Kurt Petersen and with Ole Andersen, the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Why did you become a musician?
I was lucky enough to go to elementary school at Sønderskovskolen in Sønderborg, where there was a fantastic music environment. Several orchestras, including a brass band.

I was fascinated by the sound of a trumpet, so that's why I chose that instrument.

Originally wanted to attend the seminary to become a primary school teacher, but was persuaded to apply to the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Naturally, he then dreamed of a professional career as a trumpeter.

What is your greatest experience as a musician?
...maybe the concert with SØSO on the German tour in 2004. Especially the concert at the Philharmonie in Berlin.

Outside the concert hall:
Married to Inger. 2 daughters, Mie and Trine.

Plays tennis passionately! Loves to rush around after the yellow ball.
