Mihaela Oprea
Violinist Mihaela Oprea was born in Brasov, Romania. She started playing the violin at the age of 6 at the local music school and immediately became deeply fascinated by the violin. The result was that, within a very short time, Mihaela Oprea began to win a whole series of awards both nationally and locally, and already at the age of 11 she made her solo debut as a soloist with the Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a youngster, Mihaela Oprea began her music studies at the Cluj Music High School and later at the Murik Conservatory in Bucharest. During that period she performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras in Romania, as well as radio broadcasts and also began a career as a chamber musician and soloist abroad.
In 1998, Mihaela Oprea won a place in Sønderjylland's Symphony Orchestra, where she is now leader of the 2-violin group.
In addition to her very exciting work as group leader, she has performed several times as a soloist with the Sønderjylland Symphony Orchestra, and is also an active musician in the ProMusica concerts.
In addition to her education in Romania, Mihaela Oprea has also received education in Denmark. Between 2006 and 2009, she studied with the Danish violinist Kim Sjøgren and obtained her soloist diploma from the Jutland Conservatory's soloist class.
