Trumpet
Michael Mathiasen
Michael Möglich Mathiasen was born in 1982. He was educated at the Funen Conservatory of Music with Rolf Persson and at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music with Christer Nilsson.
Michael has taken the music in with his mother's milk. His father's great interest in music rubbed off on Michael Möglich Mathiasen as a child. In his early youth, his father had started playing the trumpet in the local school orchestra in Kerteminde, and Michael Möglich Mathiasen decided early on that he would also try that when he was old enough.
At that time, the orchestra was conducted by trumpeter in SøSo, John Bøgelund Frederiksen, and when young Michael had heard him play the trumpet he thought: "if I can become this good on my trumpet I will be happy".
Back then, he had far from imagined that it would lead to a life as a professional musician, and that he would later come to take over John Bøgelund Frederiksen's place in Sønderjylland's Symphony Orchestra.
Michale Möglich Mathiasen has had many great and exciting experiences as a musician, but he gets particularly excited every time Mahler is on the programme.
Michael Möglich Mathiasen is married to Stine, who is the mother of the couple's two children, Asle and Ursula. So most of the free time is spent enjoying time with the family.
